I worked with several students on year-long research projects so they could present the findings at conferences. For these projects, they completed an I.R.B. applications and collected data. We analyzed data and the students presented the findings at the Undergraduate Research Conference at Metropolitan State University of Denver. In the spring of 2015, one set of students also presented their findings at the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences conference.
Starting in the summer of 2013, I put together three different workshops with undergraduate students for the purpose of improving their writing skills. Using my data, they helped me write journal articles that are appropriate for publication. One has been published in the journal of Deviant Behavior and another was published in Feminist Criminology. The last article was recently accepted at the Howard Journal of Crime and Justice. My primary goal is to prepare students for graduate school. Four of my co-authors/former workshop students went on to graduate programs after graduating from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
